Default 74 water pump question

Does anyone know if the stock 74 Z28 LT came with a short or long water pump? Mine is a long and I'm noticing that my pulley's sitting a little bit too far forward from the alternator's position. The alternator is a newer one and not stock. I don't know if it's the pulley position on the alternator or the water pump. Also, when I put on my balancer I noticed I couldn't take it all the way back without taking it out of alignment. Since installing my comp cams double roller timing chain and cast aluminum cover I can't knock the balancer all the way back till the torque bar clicks. I can keep cranking it till it's up against the timing cover and it still feels like there's more to give.

not sure but i think long. either the wrong pulley or the wrong pump. u can get either at sumitt. the crank pulley is the one everything else needs to line up with and it needs to be torqued down to spec.
