70 camaro Weatherstripping problem
Hey there, I've recently bought The OER rubber weatherstripping for the door frame, so, I've installed it (Didn't use a weatherstrip seal or so), well, It seemed all good at the begining,
But 3 days later, I found the molded ending sepparated from the steel insert thing, I am really pissed cause I'm from south america, paraguay, And have to ship the stuff the whole way from North america,
So Im asking you people, please recommend me a serious brand for the door frame weatherstrip... Im looking for Quality if that would serve you,
please post down what brand and where to get at.
Thanks!

Did you glue the ends where they pin to the doors? I used PUI, but the brand I hear the best reports on is Metro. My PUI weatherstripping kit said to snap it all in, but to also glue the endss where it changes from constant shape to molded shape. I'm pretty sure this is reccommended for all brands from what I hear from other guys.
I persoanlly wouldn't use the PUI I got again. It's supposed to be tops too, but the little pins at the ends were crap, and most wouldn't go in the holes because they were soft and bent when I pushed hard on them. Had to ream out all the holes slightly to make them work.

Well, I did not glued the ends... after I installed it, It fit horribly,
but the doors wont close properly, and if so I have to smash REALLY hard, and that I think Risks the window glasses. This weatherstrip doesnt get the shape with the time like they say

Then I rolled my windows about halfway up and closed the doors. I gradually moved the windows up an inch or so every few days until they seated in and now they will close all the way with the windows up. They still have to be given a pretty hard effort to close, but I'm sure they will eventually be like the old originals were.
I was totally frustrated when I first installed it all, as my doors wouldn't even begin to catch the strike, and my windows gave me nightmares, but it's all near perfect now.
