6-speed swap?
I am looking to ditch the old Saginaw 4-speed and put a t-56 6-speed in instead. Will a 6-speed out of a LT1 camaro bolt in, can i get the shifter in the right position, has anyone done it, and what all will I need to do it? The Saginaw will be lucky to survive a day behind the new engine so I need to get on this cause spring is just starting way up here.
Yes, it's been done. No it's not a bolt in. You'll need a different bellhousing, and crossmember, or at least modify the crossmember for the T56. You'll also need to get as shifter to adapt it to sit in the right location. You'll need to change to a hydraulic clutch master and slave also.Tremec and others sell kits to do a complete swap.
Try the search feature here and you'll see some posts from a few guys who have done the swap. It's not cheap, nor easy, but it's a great swap if you've got the time and money.

If you look around the T56 5 or 6 spd. will generally run around $1200-$1500 alone for a good used one. If you get all the other pieces you'll have that much more in the swap. Then you'll have to start modifying and fitting it all to work.
Here's a link to the swap that Car Craft did:

Here's another that JAM has at their site:

And here's the Weir kit:
