Looks like it might be a '66 or '67?

67 tempest.

easiest way to tell from the front/side, lemans has gills behind the doors, GTO markers in the grill instead of in bumper.

easiest way to tell 66 from 67 from front/side,

header panel of 66 is in an I shape as it goes under both grills up the middle and is skinnier on top.

header of 67 is in the shape of a T and is thicker on top (room for pontiac letters in this year) and comes down the middle only most of the way.

i could ramble on and on about the GTO and in 66/67 trim differences...but this really isnt the place for that

its my favorite car... my dad had a 66 GTO convertible. thats the reason he bought this one.

here's his car. you can see the header panel difference of the 66

and here's a good shot of the tempest

and for kicks... here's the gills of the LeMans

Here's my 66. I only had it for a few months, should have made it a longer courtship!

I have a set of lower door trim for a 67 if interested. They were brought to me to polish years ago along with the rest of the trim on the car. The guy ran out of cash and never paid for the job. I have been slowly selling off his dream ever since.

so the guy with the camaro came back... one of the hangers broke and he said he was getting complaints/questions of why the driver side pipe comes in and goes back out like that,

he asked if i did it and i said not that side and he said he liked my side fine but he wants to get some turn downs and dump it right behind the axle.

we were sharing looks of disappointment back and forth behind the Mechanic's back and the owner's

i hope they aren't going to charge him for this, he'll be in tuesday

I would have cut it off with a sawszall and threw it through the front window of the shop.
