Opps forgot the cc. The heads are 59.6cc. Piston dish is -18cc. Pistons are .005" in the hole. And the head gasket is .031" x 4.166".

yeah that team g is an awesome intake, produces huge low rpm torque, and maximum hp well before 6,000 rpms at least it does for me.i wouldnt trade that intake for nothing in my engine,im also running a 750 hp holley, and mine has very good street manners mostly because of the cubic inches.

I don't see an issue using the Super Victor, especially with a larger cubic inch smallblock, and the 670 cfm will just help it work better. I'm running an original Torker on my 427 with the canted carb setup, and was told by numerous people that I'd lose bottom end torque and performance. I run a 750 Holley with vacuum secondaries, an automatic and 3.42 rear gears. If there's any lowend performance loss I sure can't see it. The car will easily light the tires off idle, or rolling along at low rpm's, even with 13" of rubber under the rear.

LOL Lemme recover from this. Your combo makes more power and torque? I forgot I have 2.05 valves but doubt that will help. Add 4* advance timing to the cam too.

Thanks I'm stunned.

Ahh now I see. Your head selection is canted valve w/2.02's and porting. Vortecs are neither.

yeah, i didn't know what the vortec head was classified as.

i just finished digging up a flow chart for un ported stock vortec heads. numbers are considerably lower

mine:

yours:

i assumed you had 1.65 ext valves but i dont really think it makes that much difference. maybe 4 or 5 hp.

cam timing took your torque up a little and hp down a little but that was to be expected.

i had ported/2.02 selected because those are my plans for the vortec heads.

i'm not sure what all the canted/wedge,etc means so i just guessed.

on a side note,

got to work this morning and this was up on the lift waiting for me,

77 with a bowtie crate engine, nothing fancy, guess he drove it in with open header and i got to try my hand at setting up full dual exhaust with flowmasters....

took a while, got almost all the way done, just have to do the over the axle peice on the driver side, the rest is all welded and supported.

sorta makes me wanna do sidepipes on mine..... :-/

I figured I had an honest 450 hp mill. I also was guessing 500 ft lbs. I built it with torque in mind. I just hate that DD is more than a little generous. Canted valves are valves rolled over from the stock angle. 23* is stock, a common canted valve head is 18*. Like the old school Nascar motors.

The exhaust was tucked real tight, those headers are some ill fitting SOB's. Not your fault though. Again much thanks.

he wanted 2.5, we convinced him to go 2.25 but i was still un able to get it between the tank and leaf spring, had to come under the tank. then angle up. looks a little awkward.

my exhaust comes out between the spring and tank but is at a funny angle..

these cars must be a major PITA to do exhaust on.

so does anyone have a 670 Holley they want to donate to a worthy cause?
