LOL These are new lifters.

Just a giant chunk of metal that was some where in my motor.

I thought it was a lazy cam when it did run right. It was 480/480 but it had a butt load of duration. I think it 290 advertised. By the time the cam really started to pull I had to get out of it. The motor was basiclly a stock rebuild. Performer rpm intake, holly 600, and the same crane gold roller rockers on the motor in my avitar. I know there overkill but I needed to get a running engine.

On another note a buddy of mine just did a hei swap on his f150 and it was summit brand, no problems. My fuel cell is summit, no problems. I did get a summit crank a few years ago that had Scat cast right into it.

I don't think I've ever seen lifters that badly dished! Wow!
My Summit cam kit has been in my car for over 10 yrs. without issue, and with only one adjustment. They used to be very good quality, but maybe I better not recommend them based on my past good fortune!

I'll go ahead and admit it's my fault that they are dished. I swapped lifters without changing the cam. This was against Camaro69 and 1971BB427's advice a while back.

What's weird is we've swapped just lifters in an old F-150 on our farm truck 16+ years ago and it's still running today without any signs of lifter or cam trouble. Even talked to my stepdad about it a few weeks ago and that truck still pulls large loads without any problems. What's also weird is we had a conversation on a mixed car forum a few weeks ago and all the Ford people swore up and down you can just change lifters. So is it a Ford thing maybe???

It's also the reason I went to a full roller setup with the cam so I don't have to worry about it too much anymore.

At least now you can show what not to do and why! Your dishing problem could have been accelerated if you were using heavy duty valve springs.
With the Fords, I can't see how it could be a Ford thing, comparing apples to apples with the same make of aftermarket parts. Maybe it's just dumb luck.
