350 to 383
#3
Stroking a 350 will not hurt at all driving it daily. A little milling is done to the block also to allow the bigger crank to turn. I put a 383 in my 70 Chevelle along with 3.55:1 rear end gear and whoooa talk about a good car to show off in. The big difference is torque, tons of it. You will lose some upper RPM because of the longer stroke but well worth it.

ive been lookin at engine parts for awhile, i think im getting a 383 engine set from Eagle, then a 274h Comp Cams set, and Scorpion Performance roller rockers... i was just wondering how much horsepower could you get out of a 383, my target is 400hp, but i think thats a little high. what do you guys think?
