327 long block info needed!
so I have a quick question for you all, what's the difference between a 327, 5.3 liter, and 327 5.4 liter (gen 1)? specifically when browsing summit and other sites, it asks which block you've got and i have a gen 1, but then it asks what liter, 5.3 or 5.4 so...to be honest I have not a clue what the difference is or where that difference originated from, and would really like to know what the difference is if there is any, thanks!

The 5.3L is a Gen-III/IV/V engine, 99+ later vehicles.
Gen 1 327 is something you'd find in your '55-70 cars/trucks.
Parts are not interchangeable between the two.
You should be able to narrow down on their websites to only Gen 1 parts or only Gen III/IV/V parts.

The Gen 1 327 was produced between 1962 and 1969. There are some differences between them, such as the earlier models having smaller diameter bearing journals, different style crankcase venting, and canister oil filters. Just watch the year fitment when shopping for parts. Even though the newer 5.3 is 327 c.i., it's not referred to it in that way. Older engines refer to c.i., newer ones in liters.

okay that's nice to know thanks, and yeah, when I narrow the search to gen 1 blocks and then 327, on some sites 5.3l or 5.4l then comes up so that's why I was wondering and yeah its out of a 69
