Default 1980 Camaro with 6 cylinder

Anyone have any information regarding the 229 V6??? I have the oppurtunity to pick one up but do not remember much about these motors... Besides they are obviously dogs. Does anyone remember any serious service related issues with these motors.... I can find nothing on them...

don't recall any major problems with that motor, if the body is good get it and as time permits get a 350

I have one in my 81 camaro, it works fine but I am putting a 350 in there to make it nicer. They are decent to start. I am assuming that it is a second gen and its carbed. Go for it since a camaro with a 350 willl cost more and still need a rebuild. This you can drive and swap engines when you want to. good luck
