How hard would it be to convert my 3-speed auto over to a 4-speed manual?? Can i get a 4-speed to just bolt right up right where the old one was??

yeah u could get a 4 speed to bolt up. the hardest thing would prolly be be the linkages like clutch pedal and stuff. unless they have a kit or u can find an original clutch pedal and use that linkage and what not. also u may have to change ur drive shaft. pending on what tranny u get. most of the mounts should be similar also. so it can be done. prolly alil thinking involved. if ur like me and thinking hurts just stick with the auto and beef it up. shift kit and what not. performance torque converter and things along those lines

It's not too bad.

just takes time and the right parts. There are several suppliers out there that sell the parts....

I did the Tremec conversion.

We have all of the parts you need to make the swap in one spot. IM me if you are still looking to make the swap and I will be glad to send you an estimate.

I have a 1980 z28. I want to convert to a 4 speed. Do you have everything I need to do this? If so please give me a price list on all parts I need.

Thanks

David

I would suggest a 5 or 6 spd. I'm running the original super T10 with 3.08's in the rear and I still don't have enough gear. You'll have more fun driving the car, but, cruising won't be much different. All the final drives are 1:1, 4th gear is no different than 3rd in your automatic.

To avoid digging up dead threads, be sure to check the date of previous posts. That one you responded to was a 2-post wonder, and also the last day that guy ever logged on here again (7-23-07). Just a guess, but I don't think you're going to hearing back from him.

Well that was a nice round trip.

My recommendation still stands.
