Anytime your rpm's are low and you mash the throttle is a low vacuum situation. Worse case is from a dead stop, but even cruising down the street at lower rpm's and hitting it without downshifting can be almost as bad.
One of the gauges I find most helful in my Camaro is my vacuum gauge. I watch it often to see how low or high the vacuum gets at certain situations and I've learned a lot from doing that. I also tune my engine by setting timing, idle, and everything else based on maximum vacuum. If you maximize your vacuum you'll also maximize performance.

I appreciate the advice man. I didn't think of it that way but it makes sense.

For the guy asking about the timing chain that's what the parts store sent so it went on. I know a double roller would be better

I was trying to point out there cheap enough that you can get one without breaking the bank. Its just cheap insurance. I wasn't trying to be condescending, just don't want to see you have trouble with a new motor.

Just looked through the thread. Nice engine build. I'm hoping to get to that point soon. I'm off work today, maybe I'll get started back on my project again. I've put it off since the weather got nice in the spring.

I appreciate the concern on the timing chain man. Thanks for all the compliments from everyone else as well. I just got a shipment from JEGS today. I ordered Proform chrome moly one piece pushrods, Proform 1.5 roller rockers, and a Holley Street Avenger 770. I put the pushrods and rocker arms on today so i'll try to get some updated pics up soon. I've got some Billet Specialties flame milled valve covers to top it off. The car is coming along nice as well. All of my floor pan/ trunk pan work is done. I'll try to get some pictures up of the progress on that too. Thanks again for all the support!
