Default 1977 camaro value

I recently bought a 1977 camaro LT for $3,500. I rebuilt the engine and transmission and it runs very well. The paint is decent but could use a new paint job. It has a 383 stroker engine in it with comp cams. Cylinder is bored 0.030 over and has 8 new pistons and connecting rods. Also has a Holley Street Avenger 4 barrel carb and MSD ignition.Transmission is a th350 3 speed with a B&M mega shifter. Has posi 4:11 rear end and air ride shocks. The seats have some small tears and there is very small rust behind one wheel well. This car is a pretty awesome street rod and is tons of fun to drive. What would your estimate be on the price it is worth. Just from the info I have provided? I am sure I am missing a few other things but this is te main stuff.

I'd hate to make a guesstimate of value without some good pictures. Would also like to see closeups of the lower fender drops front and rear to see if there are any signs of bubbles starting in the paint.

Sure sounds like you over paid for a 77 that needed paint and interior work along with a motor.

Kind sounds like that car will be worth more in parts then it is going to be assembled.

Is it a Z or an RS? Pictures would make it easier to tell.

Copy this URL and it'll take you to a post on my twitter with a picture. No bubbles in the paint and it is the LT model, under the Z28. I bought the car with all the go fast goodies I just rebuilt everything because I have the tools and time. The engine and tranny are both worth some money. I want to paint it silver with black racing stripes.

Most people assume if there is visable rust there is a lot more to be found. The big money comes from complete ready to drive no work needed cars. Car that needs work take about 75% of your buyers away. Finished you are talking a 10K car but to hit 10K the paint going to need to be almost show paint and the interior will need to be nice.

If you bought a car that did not really need a engine and transmission rebuild and you rebuilt it anyway how much do you think you have added to the value? No offence but unless a well known place builds something its not going to add a lot a value. I can spend $5000 to restore my LT1 back perfect but I will eat about $4500 of that if I sell it right away.

I am not try to rag on your car, and I have seen people asking big money for the 75-77s but auction unrestored ones sell for next to nothing. Course they do not have your motor and drive line. Which why I said it may be worth more parted out. The other issue is the Ls1 hi tec converted cars are hurting the old school hot rods value.

Yea I was just kind of curious. Not really wanting to sell it. Me and my dad did buy and work on this car together but it still isn't quite finished. When I was younger my dad had a 1964 Chevelle malibu ss that was totally kick ***. Sold it and is now in Arizona and worth about $30,000. I really want to buy him another 64 and restore it.
