Default 1971 Camaro

Hey guys, This post is a little premature considering I haven't even looked at the car yet, but I saw an advertisement in the paper for a 71 camaro, good condition, rebuilt 307 for $5,000. When I check this thing out, assuming it's in good condition, no rust, or anything, is it worth it? I don't know much about the older cars (I have a 99) but everyone posting pics and stuff about their cars seems to have an old z28 or rs/ss and this is just a base model 71. Also, how expensive would it be to buy a larger engine and drop it in? thanks guys.

Great Body style, first design of the 2nd Gen Camaro. Check real close for signs of rust or bondo. Price seems okay for a clean and rust free car.

Well, I hope you get the car, those are some of the best years made. In my opinion. It depends what size motor you want, and who it's made by. go get the car and we'll help you build her.....post some pics when you get her.

thanks for the responses guys, I decided though that as badly as I want this car, I'm still only 20 and just don't have the funds to give this baby the TLC it deserves. Hopefully in the next couple of years I'll be able to afford to restore my dream car. It's good to know though that when I do,i'll be able to askyou guys for help. Thanks again.
