Default 1970 camaro rust

Hello all

Its my first post I am really excited. My 1970 camaro has been sleeping in my garage well I am out trying to make a living. Now I would like to fix it up. The frame is a bit rusted due to salt on the road. What is the best way to do this. Purchase a frame and shell from a scrap yard and how do I do this or have someone build a frame. What are som good places to look at to find these parts. I love my 70 camaro my teenage memory. I want to fix it up properly but not to expensive. Looking for advice

Thanks

is it something that can be taken care of with a simple sand blasting job? or has the rust completely eaten through?

Well I think it is past the sandblasting point. Is is best to just buy a crap camaro and switch some of the parts around or buy an aftermarket frame and do it that way. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. The Winter salt really kills cars

Is it the frame rails? If so you can buy new rear frame rails and have them replaced fairly cheep. I got my frame rails from Classic industries in Ca. Here is their web site WWW.CLASSICINDUSTRIES.COM Or try WWW.DRCLASSIC.COM Then any body shop should be able to install the rails for around $300.00. Hope this helps!!

yes, both the rear panels and front subframe can be replaced fairly easely. is better to buy new rear frame rails if they are needed but if its the front subframe, you can easely find a donor car or subframe assembly and easely swap them.

try looking on craigslist.com in your area, people sell alot of stuff on there
