1970 1/2?
Hey guys, im new to these forums. Mainly to ask some questions about a car my father left to me when he passed. He had a 1970 1/2 camaro with an automatic trans. Its a project car still needing alot of work but runs. Anyone know the value or a decent asking price on it. I honestly hate to part with it but I dont have the room or the means to restore it. I know its hard to ask a decent value with no real pictures or good info on it. Best I can tell you is it needs new interior. New rear panel or rebuild, some minor rust on edge or trunk, motor works, and it runs well. All original parts i beleive other than a carborator that was added. No windows. A few people told me regardless of its condition its still worth atleast 1500 just because of what it is. Id rather get an enthusiasts opinion though. Thanks guys.

Really need a lot more info but yeah $1500 doesn't get you much these days and since it runs it's worth at least that.
A lot depends on what model it is,a Z28 or RS or SS or combination like a Z28 RS can be worth a whole lot more than a plain Camaro.
Does it have a split bumper with round park lights? that would be an RS option,if it's a split bumper but doesn't have the round lights the bumper has been added which was a common practice but doesn't really add value to the car.
You need to do a little home work and tell us more, what engine, which auto trans, what rear end, what trim package and get back here and you'll get a lot better info.
And please find a way to get a few pics up,pretty hard to judge without them.

welcome.......hard to tell as stated , without more information, one bit of info all 1970's were 1970.5 , late production year, GM doesn't recognize a 70.5 they are still 1970's even the title will say 1970. Good luck in you quest.

Not only pictures, but a closeup of the tag on the cowl. This will tell us if whatever it looks like is real or fake. Lots of fake RS and Z-28 cars out there; way more than Chevrolet ever made! But I too agree that $1500 is at least what any fairly complete, running 70 1/2 will get.

Yeah it has round lights with split bumper. But thanks for the input guys. The car is in a different city at the moment. I should be out that way in a few days and ill take pics to see what else I can make of it. Oh and hardtail im located in CA.

A true split bumper RS is a big premium, if it matches the cowl tag. Even if it doesn't they're still a little more value for one rebuilt into a RS clone, for some folks.
