Rims that look good on a 1st gen

Yes.. It all does fit without rubbing. The rear suspension does not allow much lateral movement with the mods installed. The upper rear shock mounts were fabbed with a piece of chrome moly welded between the frame elements in front of the gas tank, CE traction system shackles (lower shock point) allows for the shocks to be mounted inboard or in a stock configuration. The QA1 shocks are adjusted to the firm side and the traction system can be adjusted variably to left and right and in terms of stiffness overall.

Wow... nice work. I take it that the car (looks gorgeous BTW) is set up for drags and not cornering? If I had kept my Lightning I was ready to flip the shock, put on the Stifflers adjustable long bars and Panhard bar. I had Strange Adjustables already installed with my Hotchkis TVS leafs. Amazing improvement in handling.
I'm checking out a couple cars that already have a 4-link setup, but obviously those are far and few between. I don't plan on racing or auto crossing but I'd like to do what I can within budget to improve handling and ride. That stance looks great, very "business-like" LOL.

Well... it'll be getting close to decision time for wheels pretty soon. Just put a deposit down on a '69 coupe, restored in the "COPO" style which is semi-cool, but I'm into a little more bling/flash LOL. Adding the wheel well trim and gills plus spoilers next week.
Right now she has 14" poverty wheels, those are going to go into storage. I'm about 110% convinced to stick with 15" wheels, probably Cragars because they just work so well with these cars and won't break the bank. So, I'm thinking 15 X 7's on the front and 15 X 8's in the back, have to get some advice here on what backspacing and tires/sizes. BF Goodrich or what? Going 15 I definitely want RWLs. Maybe do the shock move down the road and then figure out what might fit.
BTW, the car was a V8, was LeMans Blue, and had a white interior when it left the factory. And all hidden VINs jive. Been looking for 6 months, excited as this is my bucket list car.

I currently have the stock 14" Ralleys on my car right now. 235/60R14s almost new. Since I'm going with the CPP Big Brake Kit I have no choice but to upgrade to at least a 17" wheel for disc brakes. I thought I'd grab a set, but now the 18" make sense just to make sure I clean all of the suspension stuff. The new styles are cool, but too modern for my taste. But they look good. I need an open or spoke wheel so my new brakes can be shown off. LOL

Mike...
My car has changed a bit LOL... and I have a complete Wilwood/CCP setup thats going to get put in asap. I went with 11.5" rotors and dual piston Wilwoods. This will allow me to use the 15" rally wheels I'm now running, or anything bigger. If I was auto crossing or racing, I'd consider big brakes, but for now it'll be discs up front, drums out back. Down the road I'll change to rear discs, maybe when I find another rear.
Tires are; Fronts - 205-70/R15 on 6" Wheel Vintique Chrome Rallys. Rears - 255-60/R15 on 8" Wheel Vintique Chrome Rallys. No rubbing while driving, but if I pull into my steep driveway making a right turn, I hear a minor rub as the rear axle gets cocked. From the left, nothing. I'm pretty sure its the exhaust pipe on the drivers side... I have a full 3" exhaust from collector to tip.

Just swapped out the 17" American Racing with Nitto 555 tires for 15" rallys and BFG T/A's. Going to sell the 17" set, 235/45-17, 8" wide on front, 255/45-17, 10.5" wide on back. They have around 500 miles on them. I just like the more stock look.

Picked up some new wheels (for me) some 8x18 & 9.5x18 TSW rims some guy had on his '69. He went with billet rims and sold these. Trying to get a good pic as I'm still playing with the car. I'll post some pics in a couple of minutes.
Oh, need to replace all the wheel studs on the rear. Thick wheels. Mine are 1.25" after the head. Looking to see if they have a 1.75"-2" ??? that I can pop in.
