Got a 68' that has molding the runs along the body line. Start at 'Camaro' emblem on the front fender and runs back to the rear fender. This is not the rocker panel molding or other chrome trim. I've check the Fisher Body and Assembly manuals. There is nothing on line or anywhere. The molding has a hard rubber (serves as a door/body bumper) along the entire length encased with chrome strip as the frame. The rubber in the center needs replaced and chrome is still good.
The molding you are referencing is an aftermarket add-on for door ding prevention.
Used to be sold by Montgomery Wards, Sears, and JC Whitney. Might try eBay - Good luck.
Thanks for spending the time looking them up. It has the same basic look. The ones I have are a nice quality chrome with the rubber center. The breaks between the door and panels are nicely trimmed up too. I'll take a closer look at the pieces I have and see what is out there now that I know what I need. Maybe put them back on...?
