Been looking at rally sports and thought of a question. Why do some have a band across the front of the car and others don't? Thanks for answering my probably stupid question.

 

If you're talking about the wrap around nose stripe, that's a 67 & early 68 SS feature. Later 68 was a partial wrap with a spear towards the back. 69 didn't have a wrap around stripe. If you see an RS with one, it's either an SS/RS model, or someone simply added the stripe to make the car look nifty.
