smaller 68 wiper motor
i have a 68 camaro with a bigblock and tall valvecovers. the wiper motor hangs over the valvecover and i cant remove it without removing the wiper motor. has anyone use a wiper motor off something else to gain clearance? garry
I know how people cringe to cut metal, but I just fixed the same thing on a 69 w/454. I just used a high speed grinder to open the hole a bit, then rotated the assembly up. gently ground the outer/upper hole - then drilled 3 new mount screw holes. I have to remove the valance or whatever you call the sheet metal behind the hood to install nuts - but that comes off easy. ended up doing the whole thing for free - and it looks "original" with the normal motor sitting there.
plus put in a double piston (6" I think) power brake assist. between the two, I have tall valve covers with about an inch clearence
Note: the wiper motor will still attach in the original position. and you can't see the cutting in either position unless its removed.
