OK.... I'm putting a 383 stroker into a 69 Camaro. I pulled it out of my 85 Camaro, not thinking it might need a different oil pan: it does. (Too thick over the cross member)
So, I've pulled the oil pan on the 5.7 (casting number 14093638 5.7 LG SGI - 1987-1995) and it has 10 holes on it: 3 on either side, 2 on each end.
Every time I try and look up an oil pan that will fit in a 69, it shows a gasket with roughly 22 holes:
FEL-PRO OS 34508 R Oil Pan Gasket Set
THIS, however, is the oil pan that came off the engine:
Oil pan that came off the stroker
First, I need an actual pan that will support this swap and second, I need an oil pan gasket that will work with it,
Do I use this gasket and just ignore the extra holes? Do I get a regular oil pan for a stock 350 69 Camaro?
I've spent hours trying to figure this out, but as a TBI'd disabled veteran, I fear all I'm doing is killing off brain cells.(Which I can't afford to do)
I appreciate your help.in advance.
Thanks!
KJH

Most of them have 18 holes,I couldn't even find a pan online with only 10,does your block only have 10 holes?
The lowest picture in my op is the oil pan I took off, IT only has 10 holes. The gasket that was on there is still on, so if it's got more holes, they are covered, but the gasket on there has no additional holes. I'll take pics tomorrow.

I was wondering about the bottom of the block, how many threaded holes are in the engine block.
Something else to consider is some oil pans have the dipstick on the right and others on the left.
PROBLEM SOLVED: As the picture shows, the motor mounts that were on the big block ALSO worked on the small block. It was suggested that I swap the mounts off the big block and drop those in, and the holes on the mounts line up while the pan is just barely off the cross member... no need to replace or modify the 3rd gen pan.
Thanks for everyone's assistance. It's appreciated!
