Default New motor mounts

I am having to replace my engine as the flattappet cam went out, used the right oil but still worn a lobe. Going with a full roller cam. But the last time I have the motor out, I found out that it was a 307, it now has a 350 and I used the old motor mounts. I am going to need to replace them now, what do you all recommend, I would like to use the same style but cannot seem to find the right ones from Classic Ind, I have seen solid steel ones wit no rubber in them. Its going to be a 383 with about 425HP no higher, street only car and car shows. Thanks, Jerod

Energy Suspension urethane motor mounts, they have an interlock that prevents them from tearing in two like conventional rubber mounts will. Urethane mounts will allow you to feel more engine vibration through the frame/body, solid steel mounts even more so. I used to run solid mounts, but experienced no advantage over the current urethane ones.

Yep,I have Prothane brand but same thing and they're great. There's a bit of vibration but nothing like solid mounts.

Older mounts were just saddle mount, new mounts have an interlocking feature made in manufacture.
If me, I would replace drvr side mount with a solid mount.

I've used a short piece of chain for the same affect and it's not ridged.

I wonder how many of the original motor mounts are still around. Once headers where installed the mounts would only last a year or two. GM had a recall in 71 to add a steel safety cable strap to strap down the motor. The kit was available for about 5 years, Even in the 80s we would look for those mount during inspection and oil changes and remind customers it was a safety issue. By end of the 80's I stop seeing them. I assume that time had rotted them all away.

I have never been a fan of solid mount in a street car any more then not having solid mounts in a race car.
