MSD tuning question
Hey guys, on the MSD if I tune it for lower timing and lower RPM will it run like stock? Right now its 6,800 - timing 12 set: ranges (6.0K-8.2K) Please Advise before I start tinkering with the system. Thanks!

Initial timing at 12 may be good as long as you don't get any pinging (marbles in the cylinder) while under a load. This all depends on your engines compression ratio and gas used. If you do get pinging, back off the timing a couple degrees.
Your rev limiters (your current 6,800) have nothing to do with initial timing, nor does it affect performance from 0 to 6,800 rpm's. The MSD box will start to cut out power to alternating spark plugs a little before your set range. You want that setting to be at the engines rpm limit, the builder should know that. Are you using the rpm pills or the adjustable rpm module? I have the module and like the adjustability, you can easily lower the rpm limit should someone else drive the car.

Yea, I have rpm adjustable MSd *** for both rpm and timing. I will lower the settings on both and check back in. Thank you.
