Default Motor placement

New guy here, working on a 67 with a big block somebody installed with cobbled on motor mounts. It does not look like it's in the right place and headers fit poorly...need some measurement please.
left cylinder head to firewall, balancer to member and balancer to frame rails....pretty sure only a 5qt pan only fits, 6qt pan has the drag link rubbing on the pan and the stock dizzy is so close to the firewall barely room for fingers.
thanx in advance. It's a very nice 67, one of the few absolutely rust free cars around. Even under the rear glass trim is clean... big block 4 gear swap is not an issue, it's an original stick sb car. Motor does need to be in the right place..any mods I do will be bolt on...I refuse to cobble it up in any way. Numbers on the block say it's a 375/396...steel shim head gaskets...it might be a virgin..

First thing I'd do is make sure the previous owner put in the correct frame mounts, then check to see if the motor mounts are correct.
It's been a while but I believe you can drop in a big block, using the small block frame mounts, but the location is shifted to the one side, which kind of sounds like what you might have.
The factory numbers are 3912597 and 3912598, frame mounts, 67-67 Camaro/ Nova.

I did that decades ago dropping a BBC in a SBC '69 Camaro.
Got the BB mounts for the motor and left the stock frame mounts in place.
The headers were a bit tight on the steering box but no other issues.

There is a lot of variation from car to car. I have seen cars fit an HEI distributer with an inch to spare and I have seen cars that had to have their fire walls "adjusted" with a hammer just to make it fit. I have seen enough of both to know they are not all restored wrecks.

Keep in mind the engine visuals don't really mean anything, making sure the trans tail shaft is where it is suppose to be and the trans is sitting at the right angle should be the focus. Where the engine sits in the bay should be a result of that being near perfect as possible.
