Smile attaching upper reveal mouldings 68 rs/ss

Hi
I want to attach the upper reveal mouldings to my convertible door and rear quater. The problem is that the rear moulding is so long that it goes past the start of the converitble top molding that is already in place.

i would like to know if this happened to anyone else and which way did you decide to mount it.
did you cut it to fit?
or did you cut the exiting moulding for the top.

Thanks

ps can you send me a picture of you finished moulding instalation
