Default 350 cu. Rockers knocking after car warms up.

Not sure why this is happening but after my car runs a bit you can hear the rocker arms. It almost sounds as if the oil pump is not pumping enough oil. I have replaced the hydraulic lifters, adjusted the rocker arms and clean the push rods. I still get this sound. I have not yet replaced the oil pump which is my next step but I was told that either I have to remove the motor or lift it in order to remove the oil pump.

Does any have any idea what else could be causing this? I was also told to put a heavier weight oil and that may take care of this problem. however, I don't think that a safe solution. The engine is a 350 cu, with Aluminum heads, and a small racing cam.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is your oil pressure gauge telling you? And what valve lash procedure did you follow. If you did the static 1-2 step method as the repair manuals show, then I'm not surprised you're having noise. If you want to do a set & run, then you want to do it the heel of the lobe way. Here are a couple of different ways to go about it:

Thanks Camaro 69, I will give this a shot and see if I can get it to work. As far as the oil pressure I haven't yet installed an oil pressure gauge. The car is still basically all original with the exception of a floor mounted CD player. I hadn't started it all winter long and started it up a week ago and it cranked right up.

Again, thanks for your help! I really appreciate it.
