Default 69 transmission cross member

I have am removing the transmission from my 69 Camaro and thought the trans cross member was removable but once the bolts were removed it will move forward and backward a couple of inches but is no way coming out of the car, it is hitting on the floorboards on both sides. Is it supposed to removable? I seem to remember being able to remove the one in my 2nd gen. factory 4 speed car....but that was years ago

loosen the body mount bolt on one side and hit the cross member with a BFH

I follow Flat Tire's suggestion except I don't loosen subframe.
I use the BFH and knock the member to the rear - now floorboard is custom fit for next time.

Use the above only if a daily driver or #3 Day Camaro - If pristine, then no BFH.
The floorboard dent is under the seat and covered by carpet.

Hey Thanks, A little redesign of the floor pan with the BFH and it came out. The redesign is under the seat anyway.
