My wife's 67 SS Convertible currently has a Muncie 3 speed manual behind a 327 engine, currently at 210 horsepower but thinking about going to 275 horsepower. My wife is more used to a four speed manual and is having trouble remembering that first is down and left not up and left. Of course on a three speed up and left is reverse gear.

So the questions are:
1. can I pick up a Muncie 4 speed and swap them out without changing the length of the drive shaft?
2. will the 4 speed go in without any other changes required to drive it, like the shift linkage fitting into the same hole in the floor?
