Default help with resolving issue with tires rubbing in wheel well

I have a new to me 69 base model convertible. The 307 was replaced with a 350 crate motor and the powerglide with a TH350.
The prior owner bought the car with 15x7 rally wheels. Not sure if the wheels were original to the car but the offeset seems suspect seeing as there's plenty of clearance in the inside of the wheel wells but rubbing over bumps in the lip with the 235/60R15s fitted front and rear. The coils and leafs (single leafs) are new. The car rides low enough that I wouldn't mind raising it an inch (at 6' tall I have a little difficulty getting behind the wheel because the seat is so low) so I figured some air shocks in the rear (already ordered) for an inch lift but not sure what to do with the front. I see various coil boosters (rubber or metal devices that twist in between the coils OR little jacks that look like inverted muffler clamps that can be adjusted to the desired height). I read the twist in devices can fall out (although zip tying them in can mitigate this) and the adjustable devices look like the metal to metal contact will rub paint off causing the springs to rust. I have also read about spacers that go between the base of the coil and the frame or control arm. I want to be able to adjust the lift so the air shocks are a great solution but I'd like the same flexibility at the front.

I just want bout an inch lift and don't want to replace what are already new springs but I want to do it right.

Thoughts and experience appreciated.

Joe

15 x 7 wheel was a Z-28 wheel in 69 and required 4 leaf springs
Mine rubbed both rear tires occasionally with passengers in the back
Building a 68 now and using 5 leaf springs so I can loose the air shocks the guy had on it
