Handling Issue

Handling Issue
I would appreciate some advise on a handling issue.
Recent work done on my 1969 has been:
NEW TUBULAR A ARMS,BALL JOINTS, POLYPLUS BUSHINGS, TIE RID ENDS.
NEW POWER STERRING TO REPLACE NON POWER ORIGINAL STEERING BOX
NEW FRONT 1.25" SWAY BAR
NEW CUSTOM WELDED IN SUBFRAME CONNECTORS
NEW TREMEC TKO 600 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION
NEW REAR GEARS, DIFF AND AXLES.
NEW SSBC FRONT CALIPERS AND NEW ROTORS AND WHEELBEARINGS
NEW 1.5 " FRONT LOWERING SPRINGS
1" LOWERING BLOCKS ON REAR.
NEWSUBFRAME BUSHINGS.
NEW BISLTEIN SHOCKS ALL AROUND.
NEW DUAL VACUUM MASTER CYLINDER
TIRES AREBF GOODRICH RADIAL TA'S THAT APPEAR TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE.
Problem is that in sweeper turns takenat medium speed the entire car seems to
shift to the left and to the right as if the normal up and down motion has transferred to a side to sidemotion. Driver and passenger feel a right to left movement.
This issue is worse on right turns. Car feels as if it is about to dart left and then dart right.
It is not bump steer. Only happens on nice sweeper turns and exit and entry to freeway.
Car has been aligned twice by a reputable shop that isexperienced with race cars and street cars. All suspension bolts and nutshave been checked and aretight.
Could it be the tires? Fronts are 235x60x15 Rears are 255x60x15.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thank You

Oh, it's you again!
In your shopping list, I didn't see anything listed for the leaf spring bushings. Have the leaf spring and shackle bushings been replaced? Possibly the rear end is swaying with the weight of the car if the bushings are worn out rubber ones. Poly bushings may tighten it up in back for you.

RE: Handling Issue
with all the work you've done, those tires are killing you and can't keep up with the suspension. also, with all that work, maybe....just maybe, a small rear sway bar could help because it almost sounds like you are trying to describe oversteer

RE: Handling Issue
Thank You for the advice.
Rear spring bushings are rubber and changed by previous owner.
Maybe I will upgrade to polyplus anyway.
I have had a rear sway baron the car and then removed because there was no change
with the side to side issue.
Larger front sway bar should induce understeer so rear bar should create a more neutral handling.
I am now leaning toward the tires.
Maybe they need to be improved.
Does anyone know best tires available for 16" Rallye wheels?
Thank You,
Eric

RE: Handling Issue
Car now has 15" steel Rallye wheels.
Next to my office is a company called Wheel Smith that produces 16" Rallye wheels.
Probably 8" wide.
I may buy from him and go with Kuhmo Ectsa or Goodrich Ta KDW.
I like the old minilite look similar to what was used in the old Camaro Trans am cars
but they are expensive.
Thank You

RE: Handling Issue
Since you lowered the front, were the control arms corrected for the change in height?
Does it seem like the shift is happening about the same time the shock is collapsing?
When the car leans into the turn the camber would be way out of spec and push the top of the tire out, losing grip.
Relocating the control arms one inch higher may correct this or shorter control arms.
Also, Goodrich TAs are known for soft sidewalls. We have used KDWs with pretty good results on smaller cars.
