Default 69 camaro ride height is way TOO HIGH

Ok, I'm restoring a 69 camaro with a 427 crate motor and man the ride height in both the front and back are like a Jeep!

Here is what has been done so far... New 5 leaf leaf springs in the back. Installed them by loosening the shackles, put two guys in the trunk (550 lbs) tightened up the shackles. Still too high. As soon as I put it on the lift it went back to even a higher position... These are brand new, car is still being assembled (drivetrain is in the car, no interior). Even if I put the rest of the equipment in it's not even close to being acceptable. Same issue in the front. New BB springs.. Way too high again.

Even if I drive the car and let it settle it's going to still ride too high. What in the heck can I do to lower it on all four corners. Car has 18's on it. Seems weird that I have to buy lowering blocks or start cutting coils... The suspension was bought from a Camaro vendor. Thanks!

18" wheels with what size tires? If they are real low profile tires with stock ride height springs it may look jacked up. Stock those cars had 14" or 15" wheels with 70 series tires. Most Camaros had single leaf rear springs, big blocks and Z28s had 4 leafs. Maybe those 5 leafs are set up for a tall drag race tire?
When I did a 427 swap in my '69 many years ago I swapped in a factory 12 bolt posi with the 4 leafs from a '68 SS and left the front small block springs in place and it was fine.

you will have to remove a leaf from the rear and cut a coil on the front

Are these springs made by Detroit Eaton Springs by the Way? I just installed a pair of monoleaf Detroit Eaton Springs on my 1967 Camaro Convertible and they are a good three inches too high in the rear.

Not too sure of the brand but I ended up taking the small bottom leaf off the springs and it corrected the ride height issue. I still need to drive the car and see how much it settles. It actually could use another 1/2" of lowering to dial it in where I like it.
