1969 Camaro newbe
Just bought a 69 and I am findiing that the power steering squeals when I first start the car. If I turn the wheel stop to stop the noise stops, is there a way to correct this issue? Can the box be rebuilt to correct the problem. Belts and pulleys are good!
Thanks

The noise is most likely coming from the belt.
You say the belt is good. Is the belt new??
I would look for grease or oil in one of the pulley grooves,
and if you find any then de-grease both of the pulleys.
Another cause could be mis-aligned pulleys.

Both the belt and pump are new with new pulley as well. Fluid is right up and it to only has 1500 miles on it along with the entire driveline of the car. Just wondered if anyone else had the same issue as i feel it is the gear box that is causing the issue. Thanks for the replies guys!

Next time the engine is running and belt is squeaking, spray belt with WD40.
If noise goes away, change belt and/or check belt pulley alignment as suggested.
Of course, only after you check belt tightness.
