My rebuild
#91
I thought that I might as well get the sand blasting out of the way before I get too far into fitting the quarter panels. I pulled the car outside this weekend and blasted it over 2 days. I spent about 12 hours and used 25 bags of sand. Between refilling the sand blaster and the nozzle getting clogged with staples I was all in by 2pm today.
I still have a day or 2 of sandblasting left. I’m pretty happy with it so far

The worst thing about sandblasting is that from now on, you will keep finding sand. I had mine on the rotisserie, and I still kept getting it when I rotated it around. The last was when I had the bottom soda blasted. When I washed the floor to spray on lizard skin, I was washing away white powder.

25 bags Shogun and I’m not done yet. What I did find is that seam sealer and putty uses a ton of sand to blast. That’s why I left those spots. I'll spend a few hours and scrape those spots before I re blast

I decided to start to get the frame ready to sand blast while it was nice out. I really want to get ALL this blasting done cause it’s a real pain to do.
So I pulled out the transmission and engine. I’ll clean them up next weekend and ship them out to be rebuilt.
Ill get the rest of the front end stuff off next weekend too

I sent the transmission into the shop today for a shift kit and tune up. I also got the sub frame all stripped down. I sandblasted all the welds and seams on the sub frame.
I’m going to redo all the welds and fully seam weld the frame. That should stiffen it up nicely
