No updates. My biz took over but right now I'm doing some major cleanup. I love the squid dearly but he has a bad habit of saving everything from all from all the cars that get worked on and it all gets dumped every where.......so yea I have to u bury the camaro to work on it l

Hey Orocker, remember the trip to St.Lo for the fourth o July some years back? We tried for a car show, but, no one could get their rides done? We'll it was over a year after that I finally got the motor built and installed. Eventually I'll get pics and video posted. Here's a hint on how little she gets run, the oils been changed four times on that motor, twice on the dyno and twice in the car. She really runs good to.

 

Yes I do remember. That was an awesome trip. So glad to have gotten to come out and meet you. I'm sure that in the near future I will get it done but for now I am spending time with my kids and grandson. Soon they will all be gone and moved on.

 

Too bad, sounds like she lost the fire.

And so we begin.......We started up where we left off back in Feb....with the grille and front bumper. What we discovered is that there's a few problems with the way Bob put the front end together. The center front point of the upper and lower valance does not line up with the brace on the radiator support. Its off an inch. Bob just decided to cut out the center hole, drop it an inch and weld it back on instead of adjusting the front end properly.



This whole issue is kindof throwing off everything else.



We get the grille in somewhat but it starts to warp and groan


We managed to get the grille up in there and attached but had to adjust the right side headlight mounted piece so the grille would go in. Then we got the stiffener attached.






Now the only problem is that the bottom valance a bit too low, we can't attach the bottom of the grille to it. The holes don't line up at all. We are gonna leave it for now. Down the road I am planning on having it repainted cause I am not happy with it at all and its gotten nicked in various places over the years from us working on it. I will have a bodyshop fix my front end but for now it is what it is and I am fine with it. I just want to get it driving for a while before I even think about painting it.

Next we put the jack under the center front to bring it up so we could attach it to the brace of the radiator support.




As you can see it doesnt quite fit right. I have a gap on the left side and it sticks out on the right.




So now on to the bumper. My inner brackets were not in the greatest of shape and we had to take a hammer to them to make them fit. When attached to the bracket on the car the bumper will not lift into place where it should go.






I am also missing the outer corner bracket pieces and have decided to also buy new inner ones. Plus I need hardware for the headlights as well as bulbs so we stopped for the day. When we get the corner brackets we are gonna attach the bumper and see whats holding up getting the bumper properly attached.

Car still looks good O. Just gotta get the bumper hangin straight, you should get it sorted out. You may not have the answer why, but the body guy should have fitted the grille and bumper before the car got painted. Looks like he couldn't get some stuff quite right and half-arsed some of the mounts, then the rest wasn't his problem any more.
