i have used wd40 and wiped it on the cylinder walls, it works pretty good for breaking in the rings. thing about it is it dries over a long period of time. i tried the dunk in oil but thats not supposed to be the best way to do it.

Oh man, I agree - it's going really fast; and you say you're a beginner?
The second time I restored a 69 it took me 2 months for the transmission alone. Good job buddy, really impressive!!!

Keep up the good work man and keep up using the forum; I didn't ask for much guidance the first couple of times so my projects took longer and practically cost me an arm and a leg.

In a nutshell - only have people you know and trust touch the car, do research for everything that you need on the internet, use forums, and make sure you don't spend ridiculously on parts. I did some homework for you and hope this will help -

New to the forum. Just spent the last hour + reading all the posts to this point. Great job and the details and pictures you provide are excellent. I can't wait to see how the story ends!

Well sorry to disappoint but we havent pulled the motor yet. We decided to turn the crank and listen. All sounds great and doesnt seem to be locking up. When we built it we poured and oil mixture all throughout. Did get some work done on Labor Day. We spent the day pulling wires and fan relays from the dead probe that I wrecked.

So thats about it. No work is going to get done on the camaro till Oct. The squid is getting ready for a big Probe car meet at the end of Sept and I am flying to Ohio the 1st weekend of Oct. So until then thats all.

Well I spent 9K on the body restoration and paint job. That also got me some misc welding done on my seat frames. Spent 8K on the car itself and probly 14K in parts. That would include all body panels, motor, seat cover and interior kit, new tires and rims, and everything else that we needed. So far we are looking at 31K and Im not using top of the line stuff. Not building this for show either. This is your basic build out and I will drive it every day.
