Pics and progress look great orocker!

As for posting thumbnails, when you make a post, below where you type is an upload picture link, before you hit that, there is a little box to the right of that that says "embed picture in post", check that box before you hit the link. Then upload your pics (less than 200kb total) I use adobe photoshop and reduce the size, then save, when it prompts me for file size I crank it down to about 50 kb a picture.

Impressive. I am really enjoying watching someone else go thru this. I am trying to restore my own '69 and love watching someone else do the same. Your man seems to have the talent and patience to do this well. I can't wait to see more progress photos on your car.

I too bought what I thought was a fairly nice/solid car, only to find out that I had more to repair than I originally thought. I should have know this. I have been doing total restorations for 20+ years now, and I never seem to be amazed by how much work these cars really end up needing.

Great Job, and keep the pictures coming.

John

Thanks everyone! I know if I ever do something like this again where to look and how to look at a car now.

Well the roof frame is done and the new roof is ready to go back on.

Here you can see the bar he welded on the 2 front posts so the car would not get out of alignment when he took off the front section of the frame.

And here is the finished frame

My AC unit and new trunk lid will be in this week. So I hope he puts the spoiler on. He knows I really wanted to add that to the car. Bob also got the dash cut out and now has to cut away all the rust above the cowl and reshape the metal before the new dash goes on.

Thanks for the pic! I guess I don't understand how he welded the roof (or if he did at all) to the outer frame...Your roof linelooks really clean...

I hope I can get mine to look like that! It looks really good...

Oh yeah, I check often because I like to see the progress on everyones cars!

I know what you mean. It doesnt look like he welded it at all above the door. Maybe he did from the inside or sealed it somehow so there will be no leaks of any kind. I was just so excited to see all the work he got done on it last week.
