Default 69 Camaro Project pricing

So i'm looking at buying a 1969 Camaro i found one but i feel like the asking price is a little high but i dont know for sure so i just want to see if anyone can help me figure out what it might be worth, the owner seems like a nice enough guy so i don't want to low ball him. Just make an offer to keep us both semi happy... and is there anything else i should find out about the car prior to making the 7 hr drive to look at it? I also have more pictures to post i just tried to cover the main things...

Heres the description:
The asking price is $15,000. It has an old salvage title from California from back when insurance didn't value the car after an accident. It runs straight. It has a 350 Engine - not the original engine to the car. Transmission is column shift automatic - Tubro Hydromatic 350 (TH350). Red color is not original to the car - the original color was blue. Minor rust. Good interior - black.

New Disc brake conversion in front with 2" lower spindles. New brake lines for the entire car. New fuel pump, voltage regulator, horn relay, exhaust, headers, and water pump. The carburator was recently changed in the last few years. Bearings and seals on rear axle are brand new.

The transmission leaks, turn signals and horn don't work. Needs weather stripping around windows.

It has been a daily driver for me for the last few years. It just needs to be pampered a bit.

This car has never seen a salted road - we are from San Diego, CA.

Thanks for any advice/help!

Yeah I wouldn't spend that much for that car. I think $7000 is the most I'd pay for a salvage title car that's been in an accident.

From the pic's, it doesn't look too bad.
Do you know where it was hit in the accident?

IMO, it looks like a $10-12k car, assuming there is no frame damage from the accident.

I'm sorry, I wouldn't offer 15K for that car, even 10K to me is too much.

The passenger side front fender needs replaced and possibly some grill damage from that hit, there is something with the interior, it may look ok, but it's not to the original pattern, at least from what I see in the picture.

But on the other side, it does look like a good starter car, but just not for that asking price.

I agree, $7000 might be the most I'd offer.

What should i expect to pay for a rolling body for a 1969 Z28? Assuming that all the sheet metal was in fairly good condition, with surface rust in some places. I'm looking at a car on ebay right now that is within driving distance to pick up but not really go checkout. The interior is in ok condition it will need a little work, probably going to replace it anyway. Everything is there except the engine and transmission. The dash and gages and everything are all still there. Thanks!

Wow,
Unless you are going to put your hands on the car I wouldn't offer more than $2500 but that's just me. You don't know what condition the frame is in, the body panels cuold already be aftermarket, may not be even in place correctly. Too many hidden possible issues .. only offer as much as your willing to throw away and for me that's like $2500
