67 subframe removal/alignment
Let me start by saying this is my first resto and I知 learning. I知 restoring my 67 RS, and have everything disassembled from the firewall forward. I知 trying to clean up the frame and was going to paint it with Eastwood痴 chassis black. The problem is getting in all the nooks and crevasses with a wire wheel, especially underneath. I知 thinking the best way to get the frame clean is to remove it and have it sandblasted/painted or powder coated.
Here is my concern. I took measurements on the subframe using a plumb bob and marks on the floor. I measured crossways and front to back. The frame is exact crossways and 1/8俳ff front to back. However, the PIN alignment hole on the drivers side is way off. I知 afraid if I remove the frame and line up the holes when I reinstall it, the measurements will be way off. Im assuming that with the alignment holes aligned, the measurements will be off. I知 afraid if not getting the frame back in alignment.
Not sure if I should attempt this removal. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Before disassembly of front end, was the body gaps and reflection(s) straight?
If so, install pins into holes and take pictures of each one so frame can go back into the same location.
If body alignment was off, then frame will have to be aligned when assembling sheet metal.
Did you measure frame diagonally? If not within 1/4 inch, then frame may need straightening and/or frame straighten/squared up.
Camaro could have been in an accident earlier in its life and this is the best it can be aligned.

Thank you Everett. The body gaps and reflections were good before disassembly. Nothing jumped out at me. I did measure diagonally and they were exactly the same. I was 1/8” difference on the front to back measurement, which I think is acceptable. On the drivers side, the pin will only go thru the frame and not the body, it doesn’t line up. I’m thinking if my measurements are good and the holes don’t align, something is off. Perhaps the body or slightly bent frame. Not sure which.
Also, I took the whole front clip off in one piece.

You're welcome.
You might compare diagonal measurements within themselves of the frame pin holes and points on the frame and do the same with body pin holes
and read how square the two pieces are.

Thank you. Had a friend over today and he pointed out places of obvious repairs, non factory welds. I now know the car has had previous damage and repair. I’m gonna makes as many marks as I can as to where the frame sits now. Then remove the frame and do what you suggested to see if the frame itself is square. When I put it back, I’ll have numerous marks and measurements to go off. Thank you for your help on this one!
