A question about the rubber tips on sun visors that clip into the rear view mirror boot at the center of the windshield. (1967 Camaro convertible)

I’m replacing two worn-out tips with OER replacements. The new tips are smaller in ****-diameter than the originals, and won’t stay clipped into the rear view mirror boot.

Any recommendations on PROPER sun visor rubber tips? I’d rather not wrap electrical tape around the know to fatten it up like the previous owner did.
