Talking new door rubbers reproduction or originals

Hallo

I have a camaro off 68.

I have new door rubbers but I don’t can close the doors, I have tried everything.
Is there a big difference withe the reproduction than the originals?

Kind regards from Belgium.

usually is a small difference. may have to heat a tad to soften it. maybe set the door catch lose so it will close just not all the way. then let it set closed to compress the seal, set latch a little tighter and let set. pictures?

By nature, brand new seals are going to be tighter than the old compressed worn out deteriorated ones were. What is your weather like right now? You want to have a real good hot sunny day, pull the car outside to bake in the sun for a while, then see if you can get the doors closed all the way, and leave it outside the rest of the day. When closing the doors, if all else fails, slam it dammit!

First off I am not a pro on restorations but I ordered the reproduction seals because of the price difference and I had a slight leak but only for a few days. Where I have trouble now is the trunk. I have replaced all seals including the tailights but water still gets in the trunk.

water is possibly entering the trunk from the bottom edge of your back glass
pull the back seat.. have someone in the car.. spray the back glass area with a water hose
