RE: Dash and radio
Look in some of the aftermarket catalogs like Year One, Ricks... They have faceplates that are properly sized for your 68. They offer audio systems like Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood... that engineered to fit.
Good Luck!

RE: Dash and radio
When I have people come in to my work that have older cars and dont want to cut up the dash, I bring up the idea of either putting the deck in the glove box or the rear of the car(trunk) with a boat wired remote.
I will get some pictures for some ideas!

I think the originall look works great, and maybe place the radio in the glove box.
But if you like a new radio, some of my buddies used a conversion kit, they found online.
Im not sure what web site, but thats what i remember them telling me.

I have a1969 X77 with dark blue interior - did they paint the metal part of the dash dark blue or leave it black? If they painted the dash dark blue, did they also paint the inside of the glove box door and ask tray dark blue of leave it black?
