Default 67 side view mirrors

Hi guys. I have a 67 ss/rs and here’s my issue. Every time I close the doors the side view, door mounted mirror moves. It’s totally tightened down but the round mirror part moves when the door closes. The ball is tight but I think the weight of the door is causing this. Im
at the point of changing the mirrors but I wanted to try and keep the original looks of the car. I do like the modern style
mirrors and thought about putting the 70’s gm color coded egg style mirrors to replace them. What do you think.

I fixed the factory mirror on my 69. Take the mirror off the car and soak the mirror head in lacquer thinner for about 20 min. Take a 90 degree pick and carefully pry the glass off over a soft cloth (glass is held in with black RTV). Some used screws and some had peened rivets, mine has rivets. Peen the rivets with a small peen hammer. If screws, remove 1 screw at a time, clean threads apply some locktight and screw it in tight, then do the other screw. Clean off old silicone, apply fresh black silicone in the same areas.
