Default 1967 gauge console question

What is the dimensions of the three slotted 4 gauge + clock in center gauge pod? The pysical tape messured lenght width and depth above and below the console? The reason i need to know is that i would like to buy one out of classic industries for my 79 camaro to open up room on the dash for other gauges. I am serious that i want to see if i can fit it, or if i cannot then actually build a center console to fit it. Help please

I saw your other post on the clock thread and thought I'd help with your question some. The console should fit into your car from the '69 w/gauges. I have a console out and the dimensions are:

overall length is approx. 38 3/4" at it's longest point (since it tapers slightly down at the front)
front width is approx. 10 1/2" at it's widest point (it also tapers down some on each side)
very back end of it tapers on it's side down to approx. 4"

I hope that helps you some and if you need any more measurements on the console just let me know. I'd be glad to do it for you.

Ken

Yes that one ^^^. And is there a safe way to change the anmeter to an voltmeter? I heard the anmeter caused a few fires back in the day and as my car has an voltmeter, i want it to read correctly

Sorry, I don't have the dimensions of that gauge pod. I'm sure someone on here has one either spare or installed that could tell you. If not, try calling Classic Industries and see if someone would measure one for you. They have been very helpful to me in the past and if it means a sale they may go out of the way for you. Good Luck!
