Thanks

RS OPTION IS NOT IN THE COWL TAG INFO. ONLY COLOR,BODY,ENGINE SIZE AND STYLE PACKAGE IS IN COWL, SOME TIMES ON VERY LIMITEDFEW OPTIONS WOULD BE STAMPED, .....
D80 SPOILER PACKAGE IS THE ONLY OPTION LISTED I CAN THINK OF., WELL BESIDES THE X-CODES AND VINYL TOP

X22 is generaly indicitave of an SS396 car. Take that assumption and couple it with the low body number (232656, all the 'special' RPo cars wre made first, then the plane coupes then the special order cars - or COPO) and you might have an actual trim tag for an SS 396. Going off of the trim tag alone isn't always enough. Hopefully you can find the broadcast sheet or build sheet or protect-o-plate.

The only trim tags that will say "yes" for RS are the Z10/11s.

From the front of the car, look just to the right of the master cylinder. There should be a 1 inch hole (almost behind the MC on the right from the front). This hole was used to pass the RS vacuum lines through the firewall.Make sure it is a factory hole and not just drilled by some backyard mechanic. Also, the headlight switch,if original, would have a coule of silver vacuum ports on it where the rubber lines connected to it. Does The car have the rear taillight Factory cutouts?Again be sure they are factory.Ifso I'd say it is more than likely an RS.

x22 is a ss 396 car all of which demand a high dollar on the market today. This is why it is very important to NOT GET RIPPED OFF! If you are a buyer. It has become common place to swap out the trim tags on these cars Becarefull

I have a 69 camaro that is a x-22 car. The car came from the factory with a column shifter. I do not have the pop or anypaper work on the car. The original owner died . It was left to his children and they knew nothing about the car. Every thing seams to be origanal except the engine block , which is a 396/375 date correct block. Is it possable this is a l-78 camaro?

If its not the original block to car , without pop or build sheet , you will never know what horse power 396 [325,350,375 h.p.] it came with . If the car has factory air conditioning , It s not a 375 hp car . No solid lifter engine came from factory with air conditioning . See if you can get numbers off engine and post them .
