Default Won’t Start - HELP

Hi All,

i own a 1969 Camaro w/ 350 small block and TH350 3speed auto transmission. I’ve been having some intermittent starting issues which continue even after a new battery install and new Summit Racing ProTorque mini starter installed two days ago. My Dad tried to start it again with no success until he jumped it. He noticed that the headlights wouldn’t even come on until he hit the dimmer switch. Is it possible the headlights are draining the battery?? Alternator tests normal. Please help because I’m at my wits end!

i should note that after the new starter was installed I had no issues with it starting the rest of the day. After parking it for about 20 hours, it wouldn’t start. Something is draining the battery.

As flat tire suggests, view the Camaro in the dark and look for any lights being on.
Have the cable clamps and posts been wire-brushed?

What kind of shape are your battery cables in? Are you sure power from the alternator is getting to the battery?
