Default wiring queston

I have a 69 camaro that started life as a 6cy. it has gone through several v8 engines and Im just wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between the 6cy wiring and one that was born with a v8 at the factory.
My stock headlight setup seems weak as do the dash lights so I was going to replace the wiring on just the lighting. will a made up loom marked as a v8 work ok. Any advise would be helpful at this point.

At least the headlight wiring should be the same across all engine types/sizes. I would definitely check for voltage drops across the headlamp switch and at the bulbs. Dash lights will be controlled via the rheostat built into the switch - it gets corroded over time and can drop voltage to the cluster.
Let us know what you find

You might look into a headlamp relay kit as the kits get power from the battery junction block and horn relay buss bar.
This route gives shorter path then going through the firewall to headlamp switch and back out to headlamps, lees power lost due to wire run, more power for lamps, brighter viewing.
