Wiring harness.
Has anyone removed a single connection out of the wiring harness to the tail lights?
I have one wire that has been whittled down so that only about half of it's strands are left connected in the wire. I have the correct size wire to replace it with, but I am having trouble trying to remove the contact from the connector. Is there a special removal tool, or what?

There is a trick and a tool.
You can buy the tool or make it for about 3 cents.
Once you remove a wire end from its plastic connector you will see the trick. The metal connector inside the plastic has a very small "tab" that sticks up. As you try to pull the wire out of it's plastic connector, this tab jams against the inside of the plastic connector and makes it virually imopossible for the wire to pull out.
The trick is to insert a narrow flat object to temporarily flatten the tab as you pull it from the connector.
The tool is very simple to make. Take a piece of hosehold electical wire (a scarp piece). It will have one copper wire (the ground) with no inulation. Cut a piece about 6" long. Witha hammer, flatten 1/2" of one of the ends. You now have the perfect tool for this job. Works every time..;-)
