For what all that's been done to the car, "considerably lower" than $8k is a deal.

Yeah, in my heart I know it, but committing myself to a project like this is a process, but I know when I would get to the other side with the car chicks will be diggin' me.

Yep, a project like that is a big commitment. Oh man, I hope that's not all you're relying on to get the chicks to dig you.
Although...more guys than girls will drool over that car, so I guess that leaves another door open for you.

No, its just a figure of speech, I have a wife who is pretty hot, but she won't be diggin' the car, I can guarantee you that!

Yeah, I know what your saying, if your in the right place at the right time, but to have a car that is a few hundred dollars away from being a roller that all you have to do is start bolting stuff onto has value. This car will take 30k to be show quality, and if I do it well in time I think I would break even on it. If you consider the value of the car before you did anything to it, and then factor in the new sheet metal, the body work, the sub frame and suspension work, I think there's a lot of value there. I guess you would have to see it to understand me. Maybe I'm a little blinded because I like it too.

No, you're not blinded. It sounds like you did what I did and added up all the money it would have cost you to do the same work that's already been done, and came up with a lot higher number than what the guy is asking. It's more practical, and a better buy, provided it was quality work that was performed. A lot of times, buying a "running" car can have a lot of bad things hidden under the paint. Ask anybody here who's done a resto and found the "surprises" after the paint was stripped.

and i understand that too 69, im not saying its not worth it, but thats why i brought up my 79 in the first place cuz i added up how much that engine build was, and i never could have afforded it, but my only savior is my paints still original lol so hopefully im safe, but anyways ray if you like the car and are comfortable with your funds i say go for it, i just see things differently being 20, going to school and trying to fund a project

I think this is a quality starting point, I know where a lot of the problem areas are for Camaros, and I had trouble finding anything that scared me. I'll make an offer and I guess we'll see. If this isn't the car I keep looking.
