Okay guys iam I in a process of replacing my carpet and when I pulled out the center console I came accross this switch which is spliced into the ground side of the light bulb (shown) and the other side going to a relay. The rest out of the relay hooks up or spliced in the the harnes to the tranny.now I tried switching this to on/off don't seem to do anything either with the lights on/off or key on/off. Any help or input
would be greatly appreciated.

 

does it or did it have a 700r4 could be for locking the converter. if so the car would have to be moving for it to do anything.

 

Please explain how it works or what iam supposed to expect. Not sure what tranny I have just bought the car from what I understand it has th350 not 700r4

 

then it would not be a converter lock. th350 does not have a locking torque converter. could have been a trans brake lock in it. if so probly taken out before selling.

 

Regaurdless can someone school me how this works if it was on a 700r4? Or if it has trans brake?

 

I believe some of the later year turbo 350's had lock-up converters.
