Default Vin number

So I have a 1969 Camaro and I have read that the eighth digit in the vin number is supposed to be a 5 but mine is a 7. Anyone know what that indicates?

Here's a link to a CRG webpage that may explain what you're describing. Your car was a NOR car built in October or November of 1969 because the 1970 model production year didn't start the same time as the other model lines. The sequence portion of the VIN started the 1969 model year at 500001 and as the production increased, so did the sequence number. The 8th digit of your sequence number is showing that 200000 cars had been built since beginning at 500001.
