Default turbo 400 trans help

I have a turbo 400 in my 69 camaro. My question is, has anyone used a gas pedal kickdown switch for the passing gear? Need help...I have an Edelbrock air gap intake and holley carb.

Default RE: turbo 400 trans help

I've got a th400 with my 454 on my 69. I didn't want to buy a kickdown switch and mess the with carb and linkage, when i realized that all i needed to do was supply the trans with 12v so that it would shift down I got a shifter handle with a button for my B&M mega shifter. I wired in a fused source and an arming switch (aircraft style) in the base of the shifter to the handle and finally to the trans.
It wasn't very complicated, I'm sure other people have done this too, its actually a lot of fun when I'm taking the ramp on to the freeway. I just flip the arming switch and press the button when I'm ready and it shifts down.
I hope this helps or gives you a little more options.

i can post a pic if you want to see.

Yeah, I would like to see a pic....That sounds pretty cool...I finally broke-down and bought the b&m kickdown switch but haven't installed it yet. I am still looking at options. I thought I could get away with putting a switch on the gas pedal but don't have that option. thanks for your reply.....
